What Should You Bring
With You?
This list provides a general guide, but remember that staying safe is your priority, if it is not safe for you to collect any of these items it is important that you leave them behind. Do not put yourself in danger.
- Identification, Driving Licence, Passport, Visa’s, Work permits
- Birth Certificates for you and your children
- Money, credit cards, cheque book, bankbooks
- Keys, to the house, car, work
- Car insurance, registration documents
- Telephone numbers for your GP or surgery, any prescribed medication or repeat prescriptions
- Address book
- Personal belongings, photographs, jewellery, any small items of sentimental value
- Toiletries
- Clothes for yourself and your children
- Mortgage details, lease or rental agreements
- Unpaid bills
- Welfare benefit identification and child allowance book
- Your child/ren’s favourite small toys
Unfortunately you can’t take with you...
- Large items, furniture
- Generally house pets cannot be accommodated, ask Leeway or your local women’s aid group for more information on local pet fostering schemes or alternative options.
